A man was sentenced for three years of jail after he failed to get treatment for his newborn child. The newborn child was suffering from head injuries after his mother pushed him out of his baby bed. Both parents do not have any strong reason to do the offence. Thus, they have been jailed after pleading guilty for the crime. The boy dead on 6th Of May 2006 at Newcastle hospital and he was having a fractured skull at the time. During the crime, the father was not at home and he left his wife alone. His wife was believed to have depression as the couple has no money in their pocket. The mother pushed the child out of cot after the baby crying continuously. When the father returns home, he found out the baby was having a bad injuries and he suggested to seek for a medical treatment. However, the baby has been left overnight in his cot after the couple argued. The newborn child dead when his parents wanted to seek for a medical treatment. If the couple brings their newborn child for a treatment, they maybe can save his life. However, it was too late for it. The father, who is remarried with another woman after get into divorce with this baby’s mother has pleaded guilty and has been jailed for at least 5 years with non-parole period of three years. His ex-wife, who was found to be suffering from postnatal depression during the crime, was sentenced to jail for at least two years.

A mother in Northern Territory of Australia has been forced to take her daughter out from school after two years of violent bullying by a team of girls. Janzey Pratt says her daughter, Cassidy has been kicked and punched at the Darwin Middle School. Her daughter also received pressure on her Facebook and through mobile phone. She says her daughter’s behavior has changed recently. The last attack by the gang to Cassidy was on Tuesday when Cassidy is having her lunch. She describes that the girls are dump because they wait until end of the lunch time to attack Cassidy. She made an official police report yesterday. Smokers in South Australia now have their own way to quit form smoking. Quit SA has launched a free text messaging service to those who are willing to stop smoking especially for youngsters. This service provides smokers with tips and guidelines and this will enhance people to quit smoking. Quit SA manager, Mr David Edwards says South Australia is the first state in Australia to carry out this incredible program. He explains that smokers can receive supports at any times they want. Quit SA was discovered by Cancer Council of Victoria and this free text messaging is a part of government plan to reduce smoking habit among Australian. A mother has admitted for killing her own newborn babies. The mother, Ms Cottrez admitted she has suffocated the babies until they die. The most interesting part is, her husband did not know about the pregnancies neither the killings. As a result she has been sentenced to life imprisonment for murders. The reason why she killed the babies is because she did not want to have any more children, and she also did not want to see doctor for contraception. The community where she is living now also does not know about her pregnancies because she rarely taking part in village life. She also has weight problem which makes the pregnancies unnoticeable. The neighbor of her says that the family is kind, polite and helpful. It makes them stunned because they do not expect that Ms Cottrez is capable to do the killings.
